Because the TV show has reached the Negan storyline, he is now a pop culture icon. I don't want to say to much for fear of spoiling things, but the cover is pretty spoiler-ific even without my help. The group is now looking at a full-scale attack from the Whisperers, thanks to Negan. But seriously? 10,000 of these little nobody I give a shit about panels really worked my nerves by the end of the book. I know they're from that weird Kingdom place where they dress up like extras from Medival Times. Instead of focusing on one or two plot threads, Kirkman kept hopping back and forth between random characters that I didn't even know to give me snippets of conversations that I didn't care one way or the other about. It seemed (to me) that with a cast of characters this huge something got lost this time around. Which is odd because I normally love this title no matter how little action is happening on the pages, but this time around I just.eh.
